About the Role
The engineer will design and review detailed high‑voltage substation and switchyard packages, develop protection and control schemes, and coordinate renewable‑energy collector systems for wind, solar, and battery storage projects. Responsibilities also include performing electrical studies, preparing procurement documentation, guiding civil/structural design, managing project schedules and budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and QA/QC standards. • Design and review high‑voltage substation and switchyard packages, including single‑line diagrams, bus calculations, grounding, and lighting. • Develop protection and control schematics, relay settings, and coordination studies for HV substations. • Create renewable energy collector system designs for medium‑voltage switchgear, transformers, inverters, PV plants and battery storage. • Perform electrical engineering studies (ampacity, grounding, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, power flow, etc.) at FEED and detailed design stages. • Prepare procurement specifications, evaluate vendor bids, and review manufacturer drawings and FAT reports. • Coordinate civil/structural design packages for site grading, drainage, foundations, and duct banks. • Serve as engineer of record, overseeing QA/QC and ensuring compliance with codes (ANSI/IEEE, NEC, CSA, IEC, etc.). • Lead technical scheduling, budgeting, and project management for large‑scale power delivery and renewable projects. • Mentor junior engineers and designers, and contribute to development of standards and processes.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical or renewable engineering and possess at least seven years of HV/MV design experience in power delivery or renewable energy. A Professional Engineering license (or eligibility) and authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada are required, along with strong knowledge of codes such as ANSI/IEEE, NEC, CSA, and IEC, and proficient use of MS Office. Experience with system‑study software, utility‑scale renewable projects, and battery storage is considered a plus. • B.S. in Electrical or Renewable Engineering with 7+ years HV/MV design experience. • Professional Engineering license or eligibility and authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada. • Proficiency with industry codes (ANSI/IEEE, NESC, NEC, CSA, IEC) and advanced MS Office skills. • Experience with power system study software (CYME, ETAP, SKM, PSSE, etc.) – a plus. • Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary projects, prioritize tasks, and travel up to 10%. • Strong communication, teamwork, and self‑motivation. • Knowledge of utility‑scale wind/solar MV systems and battery storage – a plus.
