About the Role

The Electrical Engineer role will strengthen Stantec’s Electrical Discipline across New Zealand and support the existing project backlog. You will work on industrial, power, hydro, and infrastructure projects, delivering multimillion‑dollar, multidisciplinary assignments throughout New Zealand, North America, Australia, and the Pacific. This position balances the development of core skills with increasing responsibility and exposure to local and global expertise. You will deliver electrical work packages as part of a project team under a Principal Engineer, collaborating closely with mechanical and process engineers. The role includes client‑facing opportunities and site work, providing variety to daily tasks and the chance to grow into work‑package leadership. Effective communication, teamwork, and self‑management are essential for success. • Deliver electrical work packages for industrial, power, hydro, and infrastructure projects. • Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers on multidisciplinary teams. • Provide client‑facing support and perform site work. • Lead work‑package delivery and mentor junior staff as you progress. • Apply AS/NZS standards using electrical CAD and modelling tools. • Manage relationships with clients and utility companies. • Coordinate remotely with distributed project teams.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates have a BE in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and at least six years of professional consulting or engineering experience. Experience with electrical systems and infrastructure design in New Zealand or Australia, familiarity with AS/NZS standards, and proficiency in electrical CAD and modelling software are required. Strong stakeholder management, the ability to work remotely with distributed teams, and proven delivery in diverse team environments are also expected; CPEng or equivalent is preferred but not essential. • Hold a BE in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and ≥6 years consulting/engineering experience. • Experience designing electrical systems for NZ or Australian infrastructure. • Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and self‑management abilities. • CPEng registration preferred but not required.
