About the Role

The role is accountable for high‑quality, time‑efficient and profitable delivery of MEP services while providing leadership and ensuring compliance, governance and assurance. It requires building and retaining strong relationships with internal teams, clients, consultants and trade contractors. The MEP team is managed through professional, respectful behaviours and adherence to Mace standards. Success is measured by meeting programme, health‑safety, wellbeing, quality and commissioning targets. • Lead and manage the MEP team, ensuring compliance with Mace standards. • Deliver MEP services on time, within budget, and to safety and quality standards. • Liaise with clients, consultants, trade contractors and other stakeholders. • Lead tendering processes and provide technical and commercial support to bids. • Develop procurement strategies and manage specialist packages within scope and budget. • Review contracts, assist in budgeting, value engineering, scheduling and trade contracts. • Create and implement project strategic plans aligned with Mace frameworks (e.g., prefabrication, commissioning, safety). • Oversee design reviews for compliance, coordination, embodied carbon and operational energy. • Prepare delivery programmes, manage milestones, interfaces, logistics and work sequencing. • Support commissioning strategies per Mace standards, including IST, ATP and Soft Landings. • Conduct productivity assessments using digital tools and manage risks. • Manage project close‑out, delivering commissioning, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and client training. • Identify risks and produce mitigation plans; drive continuous improvement and lessons learned. • Provide leadership, performance management, technical development and coaching to managers and professionals. • Contribute to net‑zero carbon transition by managing emissions and reductions.

What You Bring

• Advanced knowledge of MEP engineering systems, design standards, prefabrication and commissioning. • Proficient understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies and coordination. • Strong planning and scheduling expertise, including critical path and commissioning. • Advanced commercial management skills: procurement, change control, risk, cost forecasting. • Advanced health, safety and welfare expertise for construction sites. • Advanced quality assurance and system integration experience. • Proven delivery of projects with £25 m+ MEP value. • Relevant construction sector experience and successful project track record. • Professional engineering qualification (BEng/MEng, HNC/HND, etc.) and CIBSE/IET/IMechE accreditation. • SMSTS and CSCS card. • Strong stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills. • Analytical, innovative, collaborative and leadership abilities. • Diverse technical project experience across sectors. • Accreditation with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, SoPHE. • Understanding of business strategic goals.
