About the Role
Key duties include inspecting, sampling, and verifying materials; performing or witnessing field and laboratory tests; reviewing test reports; and monitoring batching plants, asphalt plants, quarries, and fabrication facilities for compliance with mix designs and quality control plans. The role also involves coordinating with contractors and laboratories to schedule tests, checking material storage and handling, rejecting non‑conforming items, maintaining detailed inspection records, and supporting the review of submittals, certificates of compliance, and as‑built documentation. • Inspect and verify all incoming construction materials against approved submittals and specifications. • Conduct or witness field and laboratory tests (e.g., concrete slump, asphalt density, rebar tests) per relevant standards. • Review and validate material test reports from independent and project laboratories. • Monitor batching plants, asphalt plants, quarries, and fabrication facilities for compliance with mix designs and QC plans. • Coordinate test scheduling with contractors and labs to prevent construction delays. • Ensure proper storage, handling, and protection of materials on site. • Reject or quarantine non‑conforming materials and document corrective actions. • Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test requests, results, non‑conformance reports, and material approvals. • Assist in reviewing material submittals, certificates of compliance, and mill test certificates. • Provide input for daily, weekly, and monthly material status reports.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil or materials engineering (or equivalent), have at least eight years of experience with three years as a civil inspector, and possess strong knowledge of construction materials, relevant standards, and UAE‑specific practices. Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, proficiency in English, and basic computer abilities (MS Office and project reporting systems) are required, while familiarity with local authority requirements, certifications such as ACI, and excellent coordination skills are considered advantageous. • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field. • Minimum 8 years of construction experience, including 3 years as a Civil Inspector. • In‑depth knowledge of concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel, and related standards. • Proven experience with UAE construction projects and local authority requirements. • Strong documentation, attention to detail, and English communication skills. • Basic proficiency with MS Office and project reporting systems. • Certifications in materials testing/inspection (e.g., ACI) preferred. • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills for working with contractors, labs, and clients.
