About the Role

The operator’s duties include interpreting load charts and hand signals, performing minor maintenance and daily equipment inspections, and reporting any malfunctioning machinery. They also prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications while supporting other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret load charts • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment • Perform daily inspections on equipment, including checking and adding fluids and assessing wear • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring

The Dirt and Finish Operator must be certified to operate equipment such as a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The role requires learning all related safety hazards and safely using tools and machinery. Work is performed in plant operations or construction jobsite environments. The position demands physical abilities such as lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), operating vehicles and power tools, and working on uneven or confined spaces in various weather conditions. Mentally, the operator must communicate effectively, follow written and verbal directions, concentrate amid distractions, and exhibit detail‑oriented decision‑making skills.
