About the Role
Apprentices will service HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites, participate in certified training, and develop troubleshooting skills through coaching and mentorship. They will keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress, meet union training attendance requirements, and provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes that improve facility efficiency and identify upselling opportunities. • Install, service, and troubleshoot HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. • Complete certified training through the Service Technical Academy and obtain factory certification. • Communicate job progress and issues to Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers. • Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to improve facility efficiency and identify upselling opportunities. • Meet attendance requirements for required union training during the first year.

What You Bring
Candidates must be a member—or willing to join—the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry and have at least one year of experience with mechanical HVAC systems or related mechanical servicing. Required knowledge includes HVAC systems, facilities management, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills, a self‑starter attitude, a strong safety focus, and a valid driver’s license are essential; trade school or college training is preferred. • Maintain safety standards and possess a valid driver’s license. • Be a member or be willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. • Have at least one year of experience with mechanical HVAC systems or related mechanical servicing. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
