About the Role
Lead Commissioning Engineer reports to the Construction Manager and works with project teams on an assigned customer base. The role supports training of field teams, conducts on‑the‑job training for electrical and commissioning staff, oversees commissioning, ensures compliance with client specifications, manages client relations, handles documentation and reporting, and provides site support for break‑fixes and project work. Shared responsibilities include document management, SOP development, supplier relations, continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring team members, and maintaining checks and balances to minimize errors, with additional input on technical design and strategy implementation. International travel is required for this position. The engineer coordinates all project stages from installation through commissioning to handover, engaging with engineering design and QA/QC teams to understand operational needs, developing and executing commissioning and SAT protocols, creating system impact assessments and qualification reports, and reviewing and approving documentation to ensure technical accuracy and GMP compliance. Ensuring safe system operation during start‑up functional testing, the role performs installation verification, system start‑up, and functional testing, organizes daily tasks, tracks progress, and maintains regular communication with client site teams and various contractors to meet health, safety, quality, and handover requirements. • Support and develop training programs for field teams • Conduct on‑the‑job training for electrical and commissioning staff • Lead commissioning activities and ensure compliance with client specifications • Manage client relations, documentation, and reporting • Provide site support for break‑fixes and project work • Oversee document management, SOP creation, and supplier relations • Drive continuous improvement, coaching, and mentoring of team members • Contribute to technical design, strategy implementation, and checks & balances • Coordinate project phases from installation through handover with client teams • Engage engineering design and QA/QC to capture operational requirements • Develop and execute commissioning and SAT protocols • Produce system impact assessments, protocols, and qualification reports • Review and approve project documentation for technical accuracy and GMP compliance • Ensure safe system start‑up, functional testing, and installation verification • Organize daily tasks, track progress, and communicate with client site teams and contractors

What You Bring
Candidates must be able to travel internationally and have at least three years of engineering or project‑management experience, preferably in manufacturing or construction. A trade background in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, automation, or mechanical fitting is required, and HVAC experience in data‑centre environments is desirable. Strong Microsoft Office skills, high organization, a proactive and solution‑oriented attitude, excellent communication, ability to handle multiple deadlines, and a firm but fair leadership style are also essential.
