About the Role
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for new builds, remodels, tenant improvements and renovations. • Interpret drawings and specifications to determine scope, materials, labor and equipment costs. • Analyze historical cost data and industry trends to support benchmarking and future planning. • Develop and maintain cost databases and indexes to monitor pricing fluctuations and regional variations. • Monitor construction costs, provide updates and variance analysis to keep projects on budget. • Perform value engineering to achieve budget goals without sacrificing quality or functionality. • Assist in soliciting, evaluating and comparing bids from subcontractors and suppliers. • Review bid proposals and contracts to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. • Prepare cost analysis reports and present findings to clients and senior management. • Forecast and manage cash‑flow requirements for retail construction projects. • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers and subcontractors to align scope, design and cost projections. • Participate in project meetings, offering input on cost management and cost‑saving opportunities. • Maintain comprehensive records of cost estimates, change orders and project documentation for audit purposes. • Identify potential cost risks during pre‑construction and construction phases and recommend mitigation strategies. • Stay informed about industry trends, economic factors and regulatory changes affecting project costs or timelines. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities when applicable. • Work on‑site in Cupertino three days a week, Tuesday‑Thursday.

What You Bring
This is a hybrid position that requires on‑site presence at the client’s Cupertino office three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, with the remaining time working remotely. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field. • Bring at least 5 years of cost estimating experience in retail or similar commercial construction. • Demonstrate strong expertise in developing detailed budgets and pricing models across project phases. • Experience maintaining cost databases and analyzing historical pricing data for benchmarking. • Proficient with cost estimating software such as ProEst, Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam or similar tools. • Exhibit solid analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify cost optimization opportunities. • Possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across teams and present findings clearly.
