About the Role

The engineer will produce engineering and design deliverables in accordance with GFT procedures and standards, collaborating with project managers and senior Site/Civil Engineers to ensure successful outcomes for a diverse client portfolio. • Apply agency design standards to civil infrastructure projects. • Use hydrologic and hydraulic software (ICPR, HEC‑RAS, Bentley) for storm‑water analysis. • Model water and wastewater systems with WaterCAD and SewerCAD. • Prepare roadway designs using Civil 3D and/or INROADS. • Write Basis of Design and related reports for road, drainage, and utility improvements. • Coordinate construction drawings and specifications with multidisciplinary teams. • Liaise with internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle. • Conduct occasional field travel (up to 10% of time) for site work and meetings. • Engage multiple perspectives when solving problems and encourage reciprocal learning among team members. • Advocate for full inclusion, fostering a diverse and equitable workplace.

GFT is seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to support a variety of projects in the Southeast region. The role follows a hybrid work model and requires regular attendance at the Tampa, FL office. The position is within GFT’s site development practice of the Buildings & Places business group, where the engineer will join project teams for planning, design, and construction administration of both public and private projects across the Southeast. Candidates must be flexible to travel periodically to serve GFT’s client base. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, motivated Site/Civil Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role emphasizes a customer‑focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results. The position is full‑time, based in Tampa, FL, with core business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and requires successful completion of a criminal background check. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering (MS a plus) and an EIT certification; pursue PE licensure in Florida. • Bring 3+ years of site/land development experience and knowledge of local, state, and federal agency requirements. • Demonstrate expertise in site design, grading, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, and utility design. • Possess extensive experience with stormwater management design and permitting. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
