About the Role

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you will help design critical infrastructure for the digital age, from high‑performance data centers enabling AI to dynamic commercial environments. The multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineers solves complex design challenges with precision, creativity, and collaboration, advancing technology, sustainability, and human experience. The Senior Buildings Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage large‑scale or technically complex projects, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities include client relationship management, financial tracking, QA/QC implementation, staffing coordination, and mentoring less‑experienced managers. • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams from development through close‑out. • Manage large, technically complex projects or medium‑size projects with extensive staff. • Oversee concurrent delivery of multiple projects. • Maintain client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders. • Coordinate staffing and workload across the project lifecycle to meet schedule commitments. • Track project finances and adjust effort to stay within budget and schedule. • Collaborate with accounting, operations, and business leadership for periodic project reviews. • Implement quality assurance/quality control procedures. • Supervise large project teams and mentor less‑experienced project managers.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field, have at least ten years of relevant experience with five years in project management, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project‑management software. Preferred qualifications include a professional license or certification and PMP certification, along with strong communication, organizational skills and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold a professional license or certification. • PMP certification. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. • At least 5 years of project management experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project‑management software. • Strong ability to interact with design teams and excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
