About the Role

Responsibilities include reading and interpreting load charts, interpreting hand signals for material placement, performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools, conducting daily equipment inspections, reporting malfunctioning equipment, preparing and leveling surfaces to specifications, and assisting other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret load charts. • Interpret hand signals to locate material placement. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Conduct daily equipment inspections, including fluid checks, refueling, and wear assessment. • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications. • Assist other craft workers as needed.

What You Bring

The Dirt and Finish Operator should be certified and able to operate equipment such as a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader/maintainer, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The operator must learn safety hazards and safely use work‑related tools and equipment. Work will be performed in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting. Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), repetitive use of hands, arms and legs, hand‑eye coordination, driving various vehicles, using hand and power tools, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds and equipment, frequent grasping, bending, twisting, walking on uneven or muddy surfaces, working in confined spaces, and tolerating adverse weather conditions. Mental qualifications involve effective communication with management and supervision, strong reading, writing and comprehension for directions and safety policies, ability to work at various tempos while concentrating amid distractions, decision‑making skills, and a detail‑oriented mindset for remembering and observing details.
