Job Highlights
About the Role
• Supervise quarry/mine employees and plant operations in a limestone surface mine. • Oversee implementation of safety procedures. • Control costs to meet budgets and achieve savings. • Identify deficiencies and implement continuous improvement plans. • Manage staff by setting performance objectives, providing feedback, and offering training development. • Ensure compliance with company and government policies and regulations. • Direct mine and pit planning. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting. • Ensure quality product production processes and collaborate with area QC department. • Actively engage with the local community.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in mining or geological engineering or related field (preferred). • Minimum 5 years experience in quarry operations. • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. • Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles. • Strong communication and leadership abilities. • Ability to develop leadership at lead person and foreman levels. • Demonstrated skill in implementing best operating practices for quality, maintenance, production, and safety. • Proven safety record with compliance to MSHA standards. • Strong basic math knowledge and basic surveying/mapping skills. • Knowledge of environmental policies and best practices. • Familiarity with AggQC and AggFlow (plus). • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
