About the Role

The Maintenance Technician B works under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager. This role performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, hydraulic, electrical, air‑brake, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. The position also includes basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks while supporting drivers on a single fleet of advanced vehicles. Key responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance of chassis, refuse bodies, control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic brakes, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and heating/air‑conditioning. The technician performs line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, provides safe road service when needed, and diagnoses malfunctions using electronic tools. Completion of required company training programs and other assigned duties are also expected.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least one year of hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or be a graduate of an accredited automotive or technical program within three months. A basic understanding of work‑order labor time standards and the ability to inspect systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and diesel emissions is required. ASE certifications, a commercial driver’s license, and a valid driver’s license are preferred but not mandatory.
