About the Role
The Senior Commissioning Agent (preferred Mechanical) role is based in Washington, D.C., and focuses on designing, testing, operating, optimizing, and validating electrical systems in 24x7 mission‑critical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power‑generation, and similar environments. The position works closely with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel. Key responsibilities include developing and coordinating functional testing of multi‑stack equipment and redundant system configurations, reviewing criteria, specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals, and writing commissioning plans and systems manuals in the Syska format. • Develop and coordinate functional testing of multi‑stack equipment and redundant system configurations. • Review criteria, specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals for commissioning. • Write and administer Commissioning Plans and Systems Manuals following Syska format. • Oversee QA/QC processes for own work and that of the team. • Assist senior engineers/project managers with scheduling, staffing, and budgeting. • Perform construction administration, conduct field inspections, and produce detailed reports.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, possess at least seven years of hands‑on testing and troubleshooting of large mechanical systems, and have eight or more years in the MEP field. A solid understanding of system selection, LEED principles, applicable codes, and ASHRAE/BCxA/PECI procedures is essential. • Minimum 7 years hands‑on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of large mechanical systems. • 8+ years relevant MEP experience and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. • Knowledge of system selection, LEED principles, applicable codes, and ASHRAE/BCxA/PECI procedures.
