Diesel Mechanic 2nd Shift - $1500 Sign On Bonus
Maintain and repair diesel trucks/equipment for WM’s waste‑management fleet.

About the Role
Each day you will maintain and repair the trucks and equipment that serve more than 20 million customers across the United States. The role involves working on diesel‑powered vehicles and, at select locations, on a growing fleet of CNG trucks using modern tools and procedures. Mechanics are tasked with inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of systems—including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air components—while adhering to Standard Labor Repair Times and documenting all work performed. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel and CNG vehicles. • Estimate time and material costs and complete repairs within Standard Labor Repair Times. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and perform vehicle safety checks. • Document parts usage, repair times, and complete required paperwork for each job. • Assist senior mechanics on project work and address items from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate safety standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of relevant diesel‑mechanic experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be 18 years or older, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. The ability to meet the job’s physical demands and successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination is also required. We look for team players who care about their coworkers, enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, thrive on variety, and are determined problem‑solvers. The role requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, and constant standing, walking, and grasping, with occasional sitting. Employees are regularly exposed to physical risks such as cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, as well as noisy, dirty, and extreme weather conditions both indoors and outdoors. The position may require travel by air, so candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative, or be willing to obtain one. • Minimum two years of relevant diesel‑mechanic experience and a valid driver’s license with a clean record. • Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and able to meet the physical demands of the job.
