About the Role
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is tasked with prospecting and closing sales to new customers in order to meet or exceed budgeted sales goals. The role also creates and executes selling strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability while managing existing business relationships to retain and expand billable value. SAEs handle all customer cancellation requests, provide contract education, and secure commitments during face‑to‑face interactions. All customer service escalations within the assigned territory are resolved by the SAE. Core duties include initiating B2B sales relationships, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and developing prospect development plans that are tracked in the prospect database. The SAE works to prevent account losses by meeting sales call activity targets, conducting retention calls, and presenting solutions that improve service and profitability. Collaboration with Area Sales Managers, Plant Managers, and Brokerage Account Managers ensures that customer issues are addressed and equipment optimization opportunities are identified. • Prospect and close sales to new customers to meet budgeted sales goals. • Develop and implement selling strategies for revenue growth and profitability. • Manage existing accounts, retain business, handle cancellations, and secure contract agreements. • Maintain and grow billable value by selling new waste streams, services, and products. • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and prospect database. • Conduct proactive retention calls to improve customer service and profitability. • Ensure high customer satisfaction and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Collaborate with Area Sales Managers, Plant Managers, and Brokerage Account Managers to address customer issues and optimize equipment solutions. • Stay informed on internal sales strategies, operational capabilities, and market trends. • Meet or exceed sales call activity and retention goals.

What You Bring
Candidates must reside in the greater San Diego area and will spend the majority of the week visiting customer sites, with the remainder working from the local office. This hybrid position operates primarily in a professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers and phones. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience) and at least four years of direct business‑to‑business sales, cold calling, and phone‑based prospecting experience. • Bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience). • Minimum 4 years of direct B2B sales, cold calling, and phone prospecting experience.

Benefits
The role offers a base salary range of $70,265 to $82,000, plus incentive pay.
