About the Role

This is a maintenance position, not a per diem role. The job involves applying, removing, and repairing insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, and other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, storage tanks, and vessels to control noise and maintain temperatures. • Interpret blueprints and documentation to plan insulation work. • Select appropriate insulation material based on thermal, location, and equipment requirements. • Transport and set up materials and equipment at job sites. • Cover and seal insulated surfaces or access holes with appropriate materials. • Fit insulation around obstructions and shape protective coverings as needed. • Install sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect against weather and damage. • Measure and cut insulation using hand tools. • Prepare surfaces with adhesives, cement, or pins before insulation application. • Secure insulation with covers, strips, sealants, or tape using appropriate tools. • Follow hazardous waste handling guidelines. • Remove or seal old asbestos insulation following safety procedures. • Maintain records, tools, equipment, and perform site clean‑up. • Comply with safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment. • Apply precise measurements and meet accuracy standards. • Use shop mathematics to solve installation problems. • Plan work and select proper tools for each task. • Compare dimensions and identify differences in lines, figures, and objects. • Visualize three‑dimensional objects from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
