About the Role

The Assistant Facilities Manager leads day‑to‑day operations, supervises a diverse team, and acts as the primary contact for all facility issues, handling emergencies, inspections, maintenance strategies, and compliance. Responsibilities also include budget development, vendor management, documentation, training, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement across HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS/BMS, and fire protection systems. • Lead day‑to‑day operations of critical infrastructure facilities. • Oversee Facility Coordinators, Chief Engineers, Workplace Experience Coordinators, technicians, handypersons, and vendors. • Serve as single point of contact for facility issues, managing relationships, schedules, projects, budgets, and staffing. • Supervise and coordinate after‑hours emergency response. • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure regulatory compliance. • Design and implement maintenance strategies, including annual shutdown programs. • Monitor and resolve issues in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS/BMS, and fire protection systems. • Maintain technical knowledge, prioritize equipment, track history, and develop operating procedures. • Develop, forecast, and manage facility operation and maintenance budgets. • Identify, vet, approve, and manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring SLA compliance. • Oversee purchasing and subcontractor performance. • Ensure high‑quality standards and safety compliance for mission‑critical work. • Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance logs, and safety records. • Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, meeting KPIs and client requirements. • Provide hands‑on training to staff on maintenance, safety, and tool usage. • Audit CMMS databases for accuracy, generate reports, and control system access. • Participate in sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. • Collaborate with other departments on facility‑related projects and initiatives.

What You Bring

ABM is urgently seeking a highly skilled Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee facility management services across multiple locations, including critical infrastructure at client sites. The role ensures employee safety, protects assets, and maintains strong client relationships, requiring proactive problem‑solving, business acumen, and technical expertise to implement strategies and enhance infrastructure. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3‑5 years in mission‑critical operations and facility management, and preferably five years of electrical or mechanical experience. Required skills include CMMS proficiency, knowledge of BAS, Google Suite, and relevant codes, along with strong organizational, communication, problem‑solving, budgeting, and leadership abilities; certifications such as CPMM or CFM are desirable. • Require 3‑5 years experience in mission‑critical operations and facility management. • Prefer 5 years of electrical or mechanical experience. • Require CMMS experience (e.g., 360 Facility, Maximo, Corrigo). • Prefer BAS experience (e.g., Siemens Apogee, Johnson Metasys, Trane Tracer). • Proficient with Google Suite and facility management software. • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC codes and regulations. • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, problem‑solving, budgeting, and leadership skills. • Desirable certifications: CPMM, CFM, or ability to obtain within 6‑12 months.

Benefits
