About the Role
The Buyer role is responsible for awarding, administering, and closing purchase orders and blanket purchase agreements for a wide range of supplies, materials, equipment, and services. This includes negotiating purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal regulations, and maintaining supplier relationships to achieve cost‑effective and timely purchasing. Key duties involve providing purchasing support to internal teams, reviewing purchase requests for accuracy, sourcing and negotiating materials and services, conducting market research and issuing RFQs, creating and maintaining purchase orders, tracking and expediting deliveries, and keeping comprehensive procurement records. • Provide purchasing support to internal business and operational teams. • Review purchase requests for completeness and resolve discrepancies. • Source, negotiate, and procure materials and services per approved requests. • Conduct market research, issue RFQs, analyze quotes, and select vendors. • Create and maintain purchase orders in the purchasing system. • Track and expedite orders, resolve delivery issues, and document changes. • Maintain accurate purchasing records and compliance documentation. • Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies and FAR requirements. • Exercise independent judgment in procurement decisions. • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and suppliers. • Adhere to safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.

What You Bring
The position requires solid knowledge of procurement policies, the ability to use standard office equipment, independent judgment, clear verbal and written communication, adherence to safety policies and PPE requirements, accurate record‑keeping, teamwork, and completion of mandatory training. Mandatory qualifications include U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of procurement experience, basic math skills, familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), ability to pass background and drug screenings, intermediate Excel and Word proficiency, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred credentials are an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field or three years of specialized purchasing experience, experience with federal contracts, knowledge of MAXIMO or similar systems, and familiarity with DFARS. The role is office‑based, may require lifting up to 25 lb and extended periods of sitting, and offers reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADAAA.
