About the Role

The role involves managing transmission line engineering projects of varying size and complexity, both domestically and potentially abroad, handling scope development, team assignment, execution, quality control, schedule and budget oversight, and project closeout, including routing, permitting, real estate acquisition, and construction management. Responsibilities include leading projects through their life cycle, supervising engineers and support staff, overseeing workload and performance, managing non‑engineering aspects like public engagement and right‑of‑way acquisition, ensuring QA/QC compliance, supporting client relations and business development, coordinating hiring plans, collaborating across offices, and representing HDR in marketing and proposals. • Manage full life‑cycle of transmission line projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. • Lead and mentor project engineers, coordinators, designers, and technical staff. • Oversee public engagement, permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management. • Ensure compliance with HDR’s QA/QC standards and client quality expectations. • Support client relationships and contribute to business development efforts. • Coordinate hiring plans with regional leadership and talent acquisition. • Collaborate across multiple office locations to deliver project solutions. • Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field, an FE/PE (or PMP) license, at least two years of project‑management experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse design teams. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, seven years of relevant experience, a minimum of two years managing projects, excellent interaction and communication abilities, and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related) and FE/PE or PMP certification. • Bring at least 2 years of project‑management experience and strong communication skills.
