About the Role
As a Kitchen Hand you will assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation such as chopping, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing salads, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness, while using commercial equipment, keeping hygiene and safety records up to date, and supporting emergency meal setups when required. • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation (chopping, washing, salads). • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen. • Operate commercial kitchen equipment and keep safety and hygiene records up to date. • Support emergency meal setups as needed. • Promote a respectful and inclusive kitchen environment while adhering to safety rules.

What You Bring
The Ventia team at Larrakeyah Defence Precinct has multiple opportunities for experienced and reliable Kitchen Hands to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in large commercial kitchen environments, a current Food Hygiene Certificate, flexibility to work in complex multi‑stakeholder settings, strong planning and organisational abilities, and must be an Australian citizen eligible for Defence Security Clearance and an AFP check. • Experience in large commercial kitchen environments. • Current Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of safe food handling practices. • Ability to work flexibly in complex, multi‑stakeholder settings. • Strong planning and organisational skills. • Eligible Australian citizen able to obtain Defence Security Clearance and AFP check. • Uniform and PPE supplied. • Recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice.
