About the Role

Riggers ensure the safe movement of heavy equipment and materials through careful lift planning, proper load attachment, and clear communication with equipment operators. • Act as safety observer on equipment lifts. • Inspect all rigging equipment before use. • Plan or assist in planning lifts, considering load weight and equipment capacity. • Attach loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and tie rope for guiding. • Signal equipment operator with hand signals for directional and placement instructions. • Guide and position the load during lift, climbing structures as needed. • Assist in stabilizing the load and connect/disconnect rigging equipment. • Detach loads and remove rigging equipment after lift. • Place and remove outrigger pads from cranes and heavy equipment. • Must follow all company safety directives and procedures. • Must perform arithmetic calculations for lift planning.

What You Bring

Applicants should have extensive rigging experience and hold the appropriate NCCO/NCCER certifications, and be prepared to meet the job’s physical demands. Success in this role requires strong knowledge of rigging equipment, tools, lift planning, and hand‑signal communication, as well as problem‑solving abilities and effective teamwork. The position involves demanding physical activity such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting, often performed outdoors in varied weather, and requires the use of suitable personal protective equipment. A fully stocked toolbox containing the necessary rigging tools is required for daily tasks. • Must have at least four years of journeyman rigging experience. • Must hold NCCO/NCCER Rigging assessment certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire). • Must be able to work at heights over 300 ft and meet physical requirements. • Must possess a fully stocked toolbox, including adjustable wrenches, levels, spud wrenches, tape measures, hammers, and protective gloves. • Must know proper hand signals and lift planning fundamentals. • Must wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, boots) at all times. • Must pass background check, drug screen, and pre‑employment physical. • Must complete required safety training, including Safety Council and site‑specific orientation.
