About the Role

Mortenson is seeking an MEP Estimator II responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, the role also prepares the full estimate. The position involves creating project estimates, completing quantity takeoffs, soliciting trade partners for bids and time projections, preparing RFP documents and schedules, determining pricing options, supporting the lead estimator with software data entry, archiving cost data, and participating in review meetings and site investigations. The estimator will assist with permits and hearings, manage addendum logs, guide new estimators and engineers, solicit new bidders, and provide training to other estimators and interns. • Create project estimates and perform quantity takeoffs • Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and gather time projections • Prepare RFP documents, schedules, and estimate summary sheets • Determine pricing options and appropriate project pricing • Support lead estimator with data entry into estimating software • Archive filing and gather historical cost data • Participate in plan, estimate, and site review meetings • Assist with permits, hearings, and other government or private entity requirements • Manage addendum logs and client documents • Provide direction and training to new estimators, engineers, and interns

What You Bring

Candidates need an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least three years of construction operations experience, a valid driver’s license, strong detail orientation, mathematical skills, familiarity with estimating software (ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam, Google Earth), a professional attitude, and ability to interpret Mortenson policies.
