What You Bring
The Technician Apprenticeship program offers entry‑level technicians a two‑year paid training pathway across more than 180 business units in the United States. Apprentices will learn electrical diagnostics, HVAC, wheel end, air system, air brakes, and hydraulics inspection, as well as overall truck preventative maintenance. Applicants must commit to the two‑year apprenticeship, demonstrate logical problem‑solving skills, and have an interest in engineering and technology. A flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, or holidays is required, along with willingness to travel to Dallas for training and relocate nationwide after graduation.

Apprentices begin with nine weeks of company‑paid training at the state‑of‑the‑art Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by twenty‑two months of on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and virtual instructor‑led content. High‑performing participants may advance to a Level C Technician before completing the full 22‑month period. The program provides tuition‑free certification, full‑time paid hands‑on training on new technologies, leadership development, subsidized housing during the Dallas training, a company‑provided toolbox, uniform, boots, and a dedicated mentor.
