About the Role

The Assistant Property Manager supports community accounting functions and assists in administration, leasing, and personnel supervision. This role ensures accurate financial processing and helps maintain smooth property operations. • Collect and secure rental payments; scan and verify daily bank deposits. • Enter daily transactions and validations in Yardi; approve rates in Yieldstar. • Prepare accounting records, monthly close-out, and deposit reports. • Deliver late rent notices, contact delinquent residents, and manage bad debt collection. • Assist with eviction processes and ensure compliance with local regulations. • Support leasing activities: show apartments, prepare e‑sign leases, and respond to resident inquiries. • Maintain organized office files and ensure accurate reporting. • Coordinate work orders, service requests, and inspections of vacant units. • Promote resident retention through renewal programs and resident events. • Perform periodic common‑area inspections and report maintenance issues. • Serve as backup Community Director and adhere to safety and operational policies.

What You Bring

Assistants must have reliable transportation, be reachable for emergencies, and be flexible to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or be assigned to other Highmark communities as needed. Candidates should hold a high school diploma or equivalent, possess strong high-school-level math and communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and property-management software such as Yardi. Leadership, team-building abilities, a valid driver’s license, and apartment-management experience are preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license. • Strong mathematical skills for prorations and deposits. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet, and Yardi (or similar) software. • Leadership and team‑building abilities; apartment management experience preferred. • Tax credit experience preferred.
