About the Role
The AVP, Dams Growth Leader will join AECOM’s West Region Water Business Line in Denver, Colorado, overseeing dam and hydropower growth across the Colorado, Mountain, and Four Corners areas. Reporting to senior leadership, the role drives business development, captures major project opportunities, and aligns technical capabilities with market trends. It also serves as a program or project manager on high‑profile dam initiatives, ensuring client satisfaction and multidisciplinary team success. • Develop and execute growth strategies for dams and hydropower in the Colorado, Mountain, and Four Corners regions. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, coordinating pursuits with division managers and senior project managers. • Create capture plans that align with AECOM’s business development objectives and technical capabilities. • Lead major dam and hydropower project proposals, managing client engagement and proposal development. • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients, industry groups, and key stakeholders. • Coordinate with technical practice leads to match team skills with market trends and support strategic hires. • Serve as program, project, or technical lead, directing multidisciplinary teams to successful project delivery.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and bring ten or more years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership responsibility. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or doctorate in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering, 15+ years of technical and leadership experience in dams and hydropower, and a strong industry reputation through involvement with USSD, ASDSO, or similar organizations. • Hold a bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience and at least 2 years in a leadership role (or equivalent). • Preferably possess a master’s or doctorate in civil, structural, geotechnical, or related engineering fields. • Bring 15+ years of technical and leadership experience in dams and hydropower, with 5+ years leading projects or business development initiatives. • Show ability to assess broader water‑related markets and contribute to overall strategy development. • Occasional project‑related travel may be required.

The position offers a hybrid work model with a compensation range of $180,000 to $240,000 per year, relocation assistance, and occasional travel.
