What You Bring
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer to join our Substation Secondary, Protection & Automation Engineering Team in Adelaide. Working alongside fellow engineers, you will be accountable for interpreting engineering scopes and producing deliverables in line with client, Australian and international standards. You will bring proven leadership experience, expert knowledge in design and testing of high‑voltage (11 kV–500 kV) substation protection systems, and a proactive, positive team attitude. The role requires a tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and at least ten years of power‑systems experience. Candidates must be eligible for Chartered and RPEQ accreditation and possess deep knowledge of HV substation design, protection schematics, logic diagrams and setting calculations, as well as IEC 61850 SCL development and testing. • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering. • Over 10 years of electrical engineering experience in power systems. • Eligibility for Chartered and RPEQ accreditation. • Expertise in HV substation design, layout, and major transmission/distribution components. • Proficient in creating and interpreting Substation Protection SLDs and Protection Logic Diagrams. • Skilled in calculating protection settings and generating configuration files for IEDs, including bench testing. • Experience with IEC 61850 SCL development (SSD, SCD, ICD, CID, IID, GOOSE, SV, MMS). • Proficiency in network modelling tools such as PSSE, PowerFactory, ETAP, and SKM Power Tools. • Familiarity with protection relay configuration software (SEL Grid Configurator, acSELerator QuickSet, EnerVista UR Setup, MiCOM S1 Agile, DIGSI 5).
