About the Role

The Senior Civil Engineer role contributes directly to HDR’s mission of making great things possible. You will lead design and plan production for a wide range of site‑civil projects, encompassing site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management. Key responsibilities include conducting quantity calculations, preparing specifications and contract documents, securing permits, and executing complex assignments that require judgment in selecting and modifying engineering techniques. You will act as a technical expert, guide early project development activities such as site selection and due diligence, and mentor a medium‑to‑large staff of professionals and designers. • Lead design and planning of site civil projects, including layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management. • Perform quantity calculations, prepare specifications, contract documents, and obtain permits. • Serve as a technical expert, handling complex assignments and early project development such as site selection and due diligence. • Mentor and supervise medium to large teams of engineers and designers. • Prepare and review scopes of work, budgets, and estimates for proposals.

What You Bring

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, a Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license, and a minimum of ten years of design experience managing civil/site projects, along with project engineering and management expertise. Preferred skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and other civil‑engineering software, and a strong commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Utilize Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and related civil engineering software. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree, PE (or P.Eng) license, and at least 10 years of design and project management experience. • Demonstrate commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned, inclusive culture.
