About the Role
The UXO Technician II identifies and classifies unexploded ordnance (UXO) and discarded military munitions (DMM) and their fuses, and excavates and moves munitions deemed safe for relocation. This role also performs all duties of UXO Sweep Personnel and a UXO Technician I. • Store explosive materials according to guidance. • Locate field positions using GPS, maps, and compass. • Conduct field collection to identify contaminated soil. • Establish on‑site holding areas for munitions and explosives of concern with acceptable movement risk. • Transport UXO using appropriate vehicles when movement risk is acceptable. • Provide limited technical supervision to UXO sweep personnel. • Escort non‑UXO personnel operating within exclusion zones. • Inspect material potentially presenting an explosive hazard for safety risks.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and have prior military EOD experience, or three years of experience in munitions response or range clearance, and must have completed a formal UXO training course or EOD assistant courses. Divers must have completed both basic and underwater portions of NAVSCOLEOD or an equivalent foreign program. Required abilities include problem sensitivity, deductive reasoning, physical stamina for climbing, lifting and balancing, object identification, and operation of detection and geophysical sensing equipment.
