About the Role
The engineer will be responsible for designing airport pavements, ensuring compliance with global standards, and working closely with geotechnical, airside, utilities, and drainage teams to integrate pavement solutions within overall airport infrastructure. The role also involves evaluating existing pavement conditions, performing lifecycle analyses, and advising on maintenance and rehabilitation to extend pavement life. • Design runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, and parking areas in compliance with ICAO, FAA, AASHTO, and local airport authority standards. • Ensure designs meet operational requirements for aircraft and ground vehicles while adhering to airside safety regulations. • Develop pavement structural designs, including material specifications, layer thicknesses, and rehabilitation strategies. • Incorporate geotechnical inputs, traffic loads, and aircraft pavement classification numbers (PCN) into design calculations. • Prepare grading plans, geometric layouts, and drainage interfaces to ensure safe aircraft and vehicle movement. • Maintain compliance with airside safety clearances and operational requirements. • Collaborate with geotechnical, airside, utilities, and drainage teams to resolve pavement-related interfaces. • Ensure designs accommodate underground services and avoid conflicts with other infrastructure. • Review pavement condition assessments and conduct lifecycle analyses for existing airport pavements. • Recommend maintenance and rehabilitation measures to optimize pavement performance and longevity.

What You Bring
AECOM is seeking an experienced Road and Pavement Engineer with 12–16 years of experience to join our aviation team for a 24‑month assignment. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering and possess a proven track record in the design and rehabilitation of airside and landside pavements for airport infrastructure. This role requires expertise in pavement design, compliance with international standards, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, durable, and safe pavement solutions for airport operations. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering. • Possess 12–16 years of pavement engineering experience focused on aviation projects. • Demonstrate proven expertise in airside and landside pavement design, rehabilitation, and maintenance.
