Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable regulations while maintaining a clean and safe truck. They complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report and promptly report any unsafe situations, incidents, or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch. Participation in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings is required, and drivers work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiency and address unsafe accounts. Additional duties include dumping containers, cleaning the customer site, positioning containers correctly, submitting customer tickets, and completing all route documentation. All driver/operators are expected to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and reliable manner. • Operate heavy‑duty truck safely in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and document issues on DVIR. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service calls promptly to Route Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Route Managers to improve route efficiency and address unsafe accounts. • Dump containers, clean the site, position containers correctly, and submit customer tickets. • Follow daily route assignments and complete all required documentation.

What You Bring
Qualifications include no formal education requirement, at least one year of DZ driving experience, legal eligibility to work in Canada with a valid SIN, and a current DZ or Class 3 (CDL) license. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have an acceptable driving record, and successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen, physical, background check, and motor‑vehicle‑record review. This union position is located at the Ottawa hauling site. The starting wage is $33.64 hourly, with a start time of 5:30 am for an 11–12‑hour shift, Monday through Friday.
