About the Role
The Draftsperson will create accurate technical drawings and models to support sheet metal fabrication and electrical assembly operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal specifications for efficient production. Responsibilities include developing detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks), interpreting engineering sketches and specifications, applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs, maintaining drawing revisions and documentation control, preparing bills of materials, and ensuring compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and UL codes. The role also involves troubleshooting design issues, updating drawings based on feedback, managing multiple projects to meet deadlines, and supporting production with clear, complete drawing packages. • Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for sheet metal and electrical assemblies. • Apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards for dimensioning and tolerancing. • Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to optimize designs. • Maintain drawing revisions and documentation control. • Generate bills of materials and complete drawing packages. • Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and UL codes. • Troubleshoot design issues and update drawings based on feedback. • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Use ERP systems for BOM management.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are an Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting or Mechanical Design, at least one year of CAD experience, experience with electrical enclosure design, understanding of ERP systems for BOM management, knowledge of relevant standards, and the ability to work within a 50‑mile radius of Williamsburg, VA (military applicants exempt). No relocation benefit is provided. • Hold an Associate degree or drafting certification and 1+ year CAD experience. • Experience with electrical enclosure design and layout. • Reside within 50 mi of Williamsburg, VA (military applicants exempt); no relocation assistance.
