About the Role

The Assistant Manager – Technical Department (IFM M&E) reports to the City Engineer. The position’s goal is to oversee complete engineering and maintenance requirements of the facility, ensure 100% uptime of all critical equipment, and coordinate with vendors for AMC services. Key responsibilities include taking handover from the previous shift engineer, monitoring and maintaining all M&E equipment such as electrical systems, UPS, lifts, HVAC, precision A/C, fire fighting, plumbing, and carpentry, establishing engineering and operational procedures for site staff, and liaising with local authorities to maintain statutory compliance. The role also involves conducting periodic technical audits, managing M&E project scope to meet quality and delivery timelines, reviewing contracts against manufacturer recommendations, planning smooth operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil works, and maintaining a critical spares inventory. Additional duties cover managing various portals (Corrigo, IDEA, CEWA, training, help‑desk) for maintenance, EHS, and client reporting, handling GRN/RGP processes for asset movement, developing preventive maintenance schedules and shutdown plans, inspecting logbooks and SOPs to aim for zero downtime, preparing weekly and monthly engineering scorecards, vendor scorecards, and other reports, overseeing handyman tasks, conducting daily walkthroughs, implementing LOTO and safety procedures, and ensuring health and safety inductions for all contractors. Key responsibility areas focus on 100% compliance with the preventive maintenance plan, maintaining uninterrupted operation of critical equipment, and implementing initiatives that improve operational efficiencies in the facility. • Ensure 100% uptime of all critical electro‑mechanical equipment. • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot M&E systems including electrical, UPS, lifts, HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing, and carpentry. • Develop and implement engineering and operational procedures for site staff. • Liaise with local authorities and maintain statutory compliance for the facility. • Conduct periodic technical audits of installations. • Manage M&E project scope to meet quality and delivery timelines. • Review and oversee M&E contracts to ensure manufacturer‑recommended practices. • Plan and maintain a critical spares inventory per manufacturer guidelines. • Administer multiple portals (Corrigo, IDEA, CEWA, training, help‑desk) for maintenance, EHS, and client reporting. • Create and execute preventive maintenance schedules and shutdown plans. • Prepare weekly and monthly engineering reports, scorecards, and vendor performance metrics. • Perform handyman tasks such as carpentry, painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs. • Implement LOTO and other safety procedures; ensure health and safety inductions. • Monitor vendor SLA adherence and coordinate with landlords on building issues. • Lead energy management initiatives to reduce utility costs. • Train onsite teams on CEM procedures and conduct regular compliance audits. • Maintain accurate building drawings and documentation. • Process vendor invoices, manage tax exemption documentation, and liaise with finance. • Provide 24/7 availability and flexible support for critical facility operations.

What You Bring

The role requires a BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering, with a minimum of 4‑5 years’ experience in a critical or corporate environment. Strong people and communication skills, PC literacy, knowledge of electro‑mechanical and fire safety infrastructure, risk management expertise, and flexibility for 24 × 7 work are essential. The position is on‑site in Mumbai, MH, with a scheduled 48‑hour work week.
