About the Role

In this position the TPM oversees large‑scale, mission‑critical technology projects within the District’s capital construction program, leading cross‑functional teams of architects, engineers, college project teams, IT staff and systems integrators to ensure scope, schedule and budget alignment, while establishing standards and validating Division 27 and 28 designs. The manager will handle 9‑14 concurrent technology projects up to $75 M each, covering data infrastructure, audiovisual, access control and surveillance, coordinating design meetings, overseeing physical security and AV deployments, conducting technical reviews, managing risk, commissioning, training and documentation, and reporting to PMO leadership. • Manage 9–14 concurrent technology projects up to $75M each. • Lead design coordination with architects, low‑voltage consultants, and MEP engineers. • Oversee implementation of physical security systems (e.g., Lenel, Milestone, Axis). • Deploy audiovisual solutions in classrooms, auditoriums, and athletic facilities, ensuring ADA compliance. • Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals for technical accuracy. • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans with estimators and construction managers. • Supervise commissioning, training, and project turnover while improving processes. • Maintain detailed project documentation and report status to PMO leadership. • Ensure compliance with Division 27 and 28 specifications and District IT governance. • Budget, scope and procure network, AV and security systems using BIM/Revit and Bluebeam tools.

The Tsui Group is seeking a candidate qualified in educational facility construction projects to serve as Technology Project Manager II for a large educational client in Los Angeles County. The role bridges IT, Facilities, and Construction to deliver integrated high‑performance environments. Minimum qualifications include 7+ years managing large‑scale IT and low‑voltage construction projects (5+ in higher education or public sector), experience with consultants and multiple delivery models, proven AV and physical security project delivery, knowledge of Division 27/28 specs, budgeting, BIM/Revit, Bluebeam, and coordination during live construction. Preferred qualifications feature certifications such as RCDD, PMP, CTS/CCIE/ASIS, experience in California community‑college design‑build projects, public‑funding processes, cloud‑based systems, TIA/EIA standards, integration of AV/security/high‑speed data networks, air‑blown fiber, and Cisco/Aruba networking. • 7+ years managing large‑scale IT and low‑voltage construction projects; 5+ years in higher education or public sector. • Experience with Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build and Lease‑Leaseback delivery models. • Proven delivery of AV and physical security infrastructure from design through commissioning. • Proficiency in BIM/Revit, Bluebeam, and construction coordination software. • Strong knowledge of Division 27/28 specifications and TIA/EIA standards.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $147,000 to $152,000 and includes comprehensive medical, vision and dental coverage, life and disability insurance, 10.5 days vacation, 6 days sick, 10 days holiday pay, a 3 % 401(k) match after one year, a monthly cell‑phone stipend and a work laptop.
