About the Role

Under supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician B repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering. The technician may also perform basic tire work such as replacement, rotation and tread depth checks. The role offers the chance to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, supporting drivers on their routes.

What You Bring

The role requires working knowledge and moderate skill in chassis, refuse body, hydraulic, electrical, air‑brake, engine, suspension, drivetrain, steering and HVAC systems, with ability to perform preventive and repair maintenance both on‑site and on‑the‑road. Tasks include line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, safe road service, diagnosing malfunctions with electronic tools, completing company training, and other assigned duties. Candidates need a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and prior experience with maintenance on light‑medium duty (Class 1‑5) and heavy‑duty (Class 7‑8) trucks, aircraft or ships; ASE certifications and a CDL are a plus. A minimum of one year of relevant experience or imminent graduation from an accredited automotive program is required, along with the ability to inspect systems such as suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain and diesel emissions.
