About the Role

The role supports skilled craft workers on utility line crews, performing assigned duties and assisting across crafts as directed by supervision. The laborer must follow instructions safely and efficiently, be reliable, and contribute to project success. Prior experience is preferred but not required. • Apply effective math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, material storage and time. • Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about work aspects or safety practices. • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work. • Safely and effectively use or operate work‑related tools and equipment. • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members. • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively at all times. • Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend. • Occasionally use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices for communication. • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb. • Work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

What You Bring

• Hold NCCER Core Curriculum certification and/or a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred). • Have 1‑3+ years of experience in industrial/commercial construction (preferred). • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. • Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.). • Frequently reach above shoulder height and below the waist.
