About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Building Engineer you will be the technical cornerstone for advanced mechanical systems that sustain today’s critical data‑center and facility environments. This senior‑level role blends deep mechanical engineering expertise with hands‑on operational leadership, making you the go‑to expert for complex HVAC, chillers, cooling infrastructure and environmental control systems. You will lead sophisticated troubleshooting, mentor junior staff and drive innovative solutions that optimize performance and energy efficiency. • Lead operations and maintenance of critical mechanical infrastructure (HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, air handling) • Oversee chilled water systems, pumps, valves, piping and filtration to maintain optimal conditions • Perform advanced diagnostics and root‑cause analysis on mechanical equipment failures • Design and implement cooling solutions for high‑density server environments • Serve as primary escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 mechanical issues • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure 100 % uptime • Analyze system performance data to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness and improve sustainability • Mentor junior technicians and engineers, fostering technical excellence • Coordinate mechanical infrastructure projects, including upgrades and technology integration

What You Bring
Location: On‑site in Spartanburg, SC. This position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. • Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in critical facility mechanical engineering (HVAC, plumbing, production equipment) • At least 3 years experience in data‑center or raised‑floor environments with complex cooling • Advanced knowledge of CRAC/CRAH systems (Liebert preferred), chillers and cooling operations • Current Universal EPA 608 Certification for refrigeration compliance • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex mechanical challenges • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability to drive operational excellence • Excellent verbal and written communication for documentation and training • Physical ability to lift 80 lb, work at heights up to 30 ft and handle extreme temperatures • Availability for emergency response, holiday coverage and varied schedules • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent HVAC‑focused education • Expertise in Central Utility Plant operations and building automation integration • Professional mechanical engineering license or advanced technical certifications • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems for large‑scale facilities • Knowledge of fire and life‑safety system integration with mechanical equipment • Proven experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives
