About the Role

As a Senior Transportation Design Engineer on the Municipal team in Nova Scotia, you will lead transformative projects that enhance mobility, strengthen communities, and improve everyday life across the Atlantic provinces, delivering resilient, sustainable, and future‑focused solutions. In this role you will drive transportation design projects, ensure quality across deliverables, mentor staff, and support business development initiatives. • Lead multimodal transportation design for municipal, provincial, transit, and private development projects. • Deliver high‑quality functional, conceptual, and preliminary roadway design packages. • Develop transportation studies and planning analyses for roads, transit corridors, and site circulation. • Partner with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to align technical requirements and create context‑appropriate designs. • Oversee site‑plan reviews to ensure compliance with municipal standards and operational needs. • Prepare construction staging and traffic‑management plans meeting NSPW, TAC, and municipal standards. • Uphold quality assurance and control across deliverables through governance, mentorship, and best practices. • Mentor junior and intermediate staff through coaching, knowledge sharing, and professional development. • Contribute to business development by preparing proposal inputs, conducting research, and coordinating multidisciplinary contributions. • Provide flexible work arrangements that promote work‑life balance. • Support sustainable transportation solutions that mitigate climate change and enhance community resilience.

What You Bring

You bring over ten years of progressive transportation design experience, a P.Eng. licence in Nova Scotia, and a degree in civil or transportation engineering. You are committed to sustainable transportation, skilled in AutoCAD, AutoTURN, and Microsoft Office, and thrive in both independent and collaborative environments while guiding teams toward technical excellence.
