About the Role
The role seeks an experienced Rental HVAC Service Technician to join the field service team, independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a broad range of commercial HVAC equipment, from large chillers and boilers to air‑conditioning units, while managing field reports and delivering top‑tier customer service. The technician will handle accurate service documentation, operate tools and equipment, load and unload trucks, communicate professionally with coworkers, subcontractors, and customers, and support business needs such as inventory, maintenance, cleaning, and sales lead generation. • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems (up to 1000‑ton chillers, 200 hp boilers, and related components). • Complete accurate field service reports, refrigerant tracking, and time logs. • Use power and hand tools to service rental equipment. • Operate vehicles and forklifts, load and unload trucks. • Communicate professionally with coworkers, subcontractors, and customers. • Perform inventory counts, general maintenance, cleaning, and organization. • Generate sales leads and promote Carrier products to customers. • Support training, orientation, and work assignments for team members. • Follow EHS protocols and conduct equipment start‑ups and teardowns.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, a Type 4 EPA Universal certification, and possess several years of commercial HVAC experience; preferred applicants have an associate’s degree or HVAC certification and proven expertise with rentals, project applications, building automation, and large‑scale system troubleshooting. Carrier is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. • High School diploma or GED. • Type 4 EPA Universal certification. • Minimum 1 year hands‑on experience with air‑cooled/water‑cooled systems and related equipment. • At least 3 years commercial HVAC experience. • Ability to lift/manipulate up to 50 lb. • Valid driver’s license and forklift certification eligibility. • Familiarity with Windows OS, Outlook, and web browsers. • Associate’s degree or HVAC technical certification (preferred). • Experience in HVAC equipment rentals (setup, operation, maintenance). • Expertise creating and updating project applications. • Strong troubleshooting of large‑scale commercial HVAC and controls. • Knowledge of building automation systems and energy‑efficiency practices. • Experience with HVAC system start‑ups and teardowns. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time.
