About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Depending on the line of business, drivers handle commercial, residential, or roll‑off routes, navigating high‑traffic roads, driveways, alleyways, and tight industrial environments, often requiring skilled backing maneuvers. Key duties include operating vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and documenting checks on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. Drivers must immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions, attend required training, and work with operations managers to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. • Safely operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables. • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. • Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or service issues immediately to management or dispatch. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings to stay compliant with WM safety and DOT regulations. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. • Load, transport, and unload containers up to 1,000 lb, performing precise backing maneuvers in confined areas. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation, route assignments, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, crouching, and handling heavy receptacles.

What You Bring

Candidates need at least one year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL, or equivalent recent military driving experience, be at least 18 years old, and hold a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and applicants must be legally eligible to work in the country of employment. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement and at least one year of relevant driving experience.
