About the Role

The Landfill Gas Technician reports to the Gas Operations Manager and ensures that the landfill gas collection system functions effectively to meet state and federal environmental regulations. The role supports WM’s renewable energy initiatives by managing gas extraction processes. • Operate and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) to ensure regulatory compliance. • Calibrate, operate, and maintain electronic data collection devices for optimal LFG extraction. • Collect and enter data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring points. • Implement and follow the GCCS preventative maintenance plan. • Operate and troubleshoot liquid management system pumps, monitoring liquid levels. • Perform wellfield valve and vacuum adjustments and interpret related data. • Maintain PVC or HDPE piping and associated equipment. • Develop understanding of environmental regulations governing GCCS operations. • Work primarily outdoors (≈90 %) in various weather conditions, with some office duties (≈10 %).

Benefits
