About the Role

The technician supports instructors by assisting with research and development, testing, and maintenance of labs and classroom materials, prepares and maintains training tools, and locates parts, diagrams, and drawings independently within the AAON database. They also operate and maintain a variety of technical equipment used in training, ensuring optimal condition and troubleshooting issues to keep projects on track. • Set up and maintain lab equipment for training sessions • Assist instructors with research, development, testing, and material maintenance • Prepare and organize training materials, tools, and demonstrations • Locate parts, diagrams, and drawings using the AAON database • Operate and maintain technical instruments to ensure optimal performance • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing or operation • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and procedures • Collaborate with instructors, engineers, technicians, and team members • Deliver hands‑on training and practical demonstrations to students • Travel to other facilities or off‑site locations as required • Maintain EPA 608 and A2L certifications

What You Bring

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and thermodynamics, and will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and supporting classrooms, labs, and equipment before, during, and after training sessions. Candidates must hold an Associate’s degree in HVAC or an equivalent technical qualification, possess EPA 608 and A2L licenses/certifications, and have at least five years of hands‑on experience with HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and thermodynamics. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include proven teaching or training experience in a technical field, strong expertise in HVAC and related systems, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for students while committing to continuous professional development. The work environment involves standing for long periods, presenting materials in classroom or lab settings, and occasional travel to other facilities or off‑site locations. The role requires excellent people and communication skills, comfort speaking to large groups, and a passion for teaching and learning. • Hold an Associate’s degree in HVAC or equivalent technical education • Possess at least five years of hands‑on HVAC, mechanical, and electrical experience • Demonstrate proven teaching or training experience in a technical field • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills
