About the Role

The Power Engineer/Building Technician is responsible for operating the facility’s mechanical and supporting systems, conducting structured inspections, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted client operations and asset integrity. The role also requires adherence to internal and external environmental, health and safety, and fire protection requirements. Key duties include troubleshooting equipment deficiencies, monitoring mechanical, electrical, and other systems through regular walkthroughs, managing work order lifecycles in the service maintenance database, and delivering routine and on‑demand service requests. The technician supports the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, assists with facility‑related projects, and upholds corporate and legislative compliance. • Identify and report facility mechanical and electrical equipment conditions, suggesting enhancements. • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other building systems. • Conduct regular inspections and walkthroughs to monitor system performance and asset integrity. • Manage work orders from dispatch to completion, documenting resolutions in the maintenance database. • Support the implementation and tracking of preventative maintenance programs. • Respond to routine and emergency service requests to minimize downtime. • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations. • Assist in facility‑related projects and ensure work aligns with corporate policies. • Maintain and service assigned tools, arranging repairs or replacements as needed. • Submit expenditure reports promptly and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring

The position requires a high school diploma with trades training or certification, at least three years of experience maintaining HVAC, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, and a strong safety and client‑service mindset. Candidates must hold an ABSA Power Engineer – 4th Class licence (3rd Class is an asset) and possess knowledge of Building Automation Systems, effective communication, and mentoring abilities.
