Job Highlights
About the Role
The dispatcher communicates with WM drivers to resolve problems during routes for residential, commercial, and roll‑off services. They handle incoming service orders, direct drivers, and resolve issues while interacting with customers, sales, and operations staff. Using WM proprietary software, they manage same‑day ticket routing and prepare next‑day routes. Shifts may vary, include overtime, Saturdays, and up to 15% travel for face‑to‑face site work. • Dispatch drivers to calls using customer needs, driver location, load, and cost considerations. • Optimize routes with sites and service department to meet customer requirements. • Determine daily driver staffing levels for responsiveness and productivity. • Assign routes and service tickets for current and next day, ensuring completion. • Field incoming calls and emails for pick‑up or delivery requests across the market. • Communicate with customers while drivers are on site to resolve pick‑up issues. • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery/pick‑up problems before they affect service. • Ensure same‑day service for missed pick‑ups by managing routing and tracking drivers.

What You Bring
The position is performed from a home office and requires regular use of a keyboard and other fine‑motor coordination throughout the workday. The role may require air travel or access to federal property, so candidates must have a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative. • Remote work with virtual training; must reside within commuting distance of Baldwin Park for quarterly meetings. • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED. • At least 6 months of relevant experience in a team setting with effective communication. • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with strong organizational skills. • Professional communication via email, telephone, and two‑way devices. • Proficient with multiple computer programs and willing to learn WM proprietary software. • Up to 15% travel may be required for face‑to‑face site work.
