Team Leader - Cyber Defence Infrastructure and Connectivity

About the Role

You will direct projects and operational delivery for platform connectivity and cyber security services, ensuring alignment with GHD’s risk management strategy. Responsibilities include overseeing cyber protective layers, monitoring connectivity performance, managing upgrades and change processes, producing reports and presentations, and securely designing and managing ICT systems in line with the GHD Risk Management Framework. In a leadership capacity you will foster a high‑performing, collaborative and inclusive team culture by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting regular 1:1s, wellbeing checks and team meetings. You will also manage recruitment and onboarding to ensure a positive employee experience. • Direct platform connectivity and cyber security projects to align with risk management strategy. • Oversee cyber protective and traffic‑control layers across GHD’s global technology estate. • Monitor connectivity availability and performance to minimize outages and cyber threats. • Lead problem‑solving, support escalations and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Manage system upgrades, planned outages and change processes; contribute to deployments. • Develop and implement the Platform Connectivity strategy and enterprise business plan. • Produce professional reports, communications and presentations as required. • Design, implement and manage ICT systems while managing technical risk per framework. • Build a high‑performing, inclusive team culture; set goals, provide feedback and conduct regular check‑ins. • Facilitate knowledge sharing, cross‑skilling and open communication within and across teams. • Handle recruitment, onboarding and employee experience for new team members. • Apply expertise in firewalls, VPN/ZTNA, SASE, cloud edge, virtual WAN, routing, switching and wireless technologies. • Utilise advanced Microsoft Defender suite and vulnerability management capabilities.

What You Bring

We are seeking a Team Leader – Cyber Defence Infrastructure and Connectivity to guide the Platform Connectivity team in delivering enterprise connectivity and defensive technology solutions. This role enhances GHD staff productivity, mitigates enterprise risk and supports winning work from our clients. The role requires deep expertise in cyber security technologies such as firewalls, VPN/ZTNA, SASE and cloud edge, as well as networks and connectivity including virtual WAN, routing and wireless. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Defender, vulnerability management, strong analytical problem‑solving skills and a proactive, collaborative communication style are essential. You should hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, plus at least five years’ experience in a global professional services environment and prior team‑leader experience. Experience with large Microsoft enterprise environments, public/private cloud connectivity and relevant industry certifications is expected. • Demonstrate strong analytical, leadership and collaborative communication skills. • Hold a relevant degree, 5+ years’ global professional services experience, and industry certifications.
