About the Role

The accounting role supports yard operations with a strong focus on safety, internal controls, and accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities include month‑end close, forecasting, SOX compliance, tax preparation, and process improvement while working on‑site and collaborating across teams. • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. • Maintain adherence to internal controls, GAAP, and accounting standards. • Perform month‑end closing activities, including journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations. • Facilitate weekly and monthly forecasting and monitor variances between actuals and forecasts. • Manage yearly SOX requirements, including audited inventories and fixed‑asset verification for each yard. • Prepare and file multi‑state tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations. • Generate requested financial reports and schedules. • Regularly prepare and present financial information to various internal groups. • Work on‑site with yard operations and travel as required. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls. • Review daily yard purchases and shipments for discrepancies and initiate timely corrections.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 1–2 years of related experience are required, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include deep GAAP knowledge, experience with Power BI, CPA or advanced business degree, and background in manufacturing or public accounting.
