About the Role
The Manufacturing Technician II – 2nd Shift assembles, fits, and mounts sub‑assemblies, components, and standard or near‑standard fixed assemblies in motor control centers, enclosed control units, and related assemblies. The role involves constructing both sub‑assemblies and complete assemblies, wiring control devices, and installing a variety of electrical components. • Follow oral/written instructions, prints, inspection reports, and wiring diagrams. • Use manufacturing information sheets to determine parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials. • Read shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures, component types, mounting locations, and clearances. • Assemble and fit parts to create sub‑assemblies or complete assemblies. • Assemble and wire control devices, cutting wires to length. • Adjust assemblies to ensure correct alignment and clearances. • Install units, panels, meters, relays, fuses, transformers, etc., by mounting/bolting them in place; install bus work such as lug adapters and splices. • Fabricate pre‑bent cable units, MTBs, and control panel harnesses using pre‑cable boards and hand‑crimp lugs. • Modify standard assemblies or doors, altering hole cutouts with hand or power tools. • Perform wiring changes as required. • Operate floor‑mounted overhead and jib cranes to move units, harnesses, and panels. • Assess work quality, report issues to supervisor or QC, and maintain piece counts and records. • Mark wires, devices, and terminals; apply ID labels (e.g., Brady, Dymo) and maintain documentation. • Wear required safety equipment and follow hygiene standards throughout the assembly process.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least three months of manufacturing experience. Relocation is not offered; applicants must reside within 50 miles of the Fayetteville, NC facility, though active‑duty military members are exempt. The position requires flexibility to work overtime and varied hours as business needs dictate. Successful technicians work effectively in teams, demonstrate strong comprehension of wiring diagrams and schematics, and can operate various hand tools in a lean environment with minimal supervision. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulder level, lift or carry up to 35 lb, and possess adequate far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
