About the Role
The Fabricator/Assembler reports to the Engineered Systems Supervisor and is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and testing special dry‑chemical and AFFF fire‑protection systems. Employees may be rotated to other departments based on skill set and production needs. Key duties include assembling systems and sub‑assemblies from diagrams or verbal instructions, fabricating skids, racks, turrets, manifolds, cabinets, and small parts, and testing pneumatic actuation and detection systems. The role requires operating equipment such as band saws, metal shears, ultragraph, pipe benders, threaders, and hydraulic presses, as well as using hand and power tools to fit, join, and finish components by welding, brazing, or soldering. Additional tasks involve hose assembly, pressure testing, jig and fixture fabrication, minor machine maintenance, and supporting peer training. Employees must comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies, attend safety training, report accidents, and follow emergency procedures. Requirements include lock‑out/tag‑out after six months, hazardous waste training, chemical label recognition, spill management, and acting as a safety coach for coworkers. • Assemble and fabricate dry‑chemical and AFFF fire‑protection systems from diagrams or verbal instructions. • Fabricate skids, cylinder racks, turrets, manifolds, cabinets, and small parts such as nozzles and crank holders. • Operate shop equipment including band saws, metal shears, ultragraph, pipe benders, threaders, and hydraulic presses. • Join components using welding, brazing, or soldering on carbon steel, stainless steel, copper alloys, and aluminum. • Assemble hoses with cut‑off machines, Kwik‑Krimp couplers, and hose assembly machines. • Test tanks and systems under pressure up to 250 psi using nitrogen or air. • Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and tooling for welding, cutting, and drilling to customer specifications. • Perform minor maintenance on machinery and crate components using hand and power tools. • Support training and development of peers and act as a safety coach for coworkers. • Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies, attend safety training, and report accidents promptly. • Maintain lock‑out/tag‑out procedures after six months and complete hazardous waste and spill‑management training.

What You Bring
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high‑school diploma or equivalent, and have a working knowledge of blueprints and prior welding experience to pass a 6‑G pipe‑weld test.
