About the Role

The helper assists with layout, material handling, and cutting during installations, while maintaining clean and organized work areas. They ensure necessary materials are stocked, support other craft workers as needed, and uphold safety and quality standards throughout the job. • Assist Carpenter in laying out work • Assist Carpenter with lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting of materials during installation • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment • Ensure work area remains stocked with materials needed • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring

The Carpenter Helper supports skilled carpenters and foremen by performing supportive duties under direct supervision. The role requires basic knowledge of carpentry, hand and power tools, and involves designing, constructing, installing, and repairing wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. The helper is expected to seek improvements, learn safety practices, and work on plant operations or construction sites. The position demands physical strength to lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), stamina for repetitive motions, and the ability to navigate uneven or confined spaces, ladders, and scaffolding. Strong hand‑eye coordination, tool competency, and effective communication with supervisors are essential, as is attention to detail, decision‑making, and concentration in varying weather and noisy environments.
