About the Role

The Business Development Manager reports to the Vice President – Client Solutions, UK & Europe, and is responsible for developing, solutioning, and closing new business opportunities while retaining existing customer accounts within target market sectors. The role focuses on delivering customer requirements without compromising quality service and building strong relationships that reflect positively on BGIS. The manager leads FM bids, develops long‑term professional relationships with clients in target verticals, meets and exceeds UK sales targets, and maintains after‑sales support. They manage the full sales spectrum from SQ through RFI, RFP and presentations, create pitch documentation using BGIS templates, and collaborate closely with the Client Solutions and Marketing teams globally. The role requires a proactive approach to building an active pipeline, exploring existing and new markets, using innovative methods to generate profitable business, and representing BGIS at industry events and on social media. Regular liaison with the VP ensures alignment on sales activities, proper sign‑offs, and accurate record‑keeping of contracts and tender documentation. • Lead FM bids and achieve sales targets in assigned UK markets. • Develop and maintain long‑term professional relationships with existing and prospective clients. • Own the full sales cycle from SQ, RFI, RFP to presentations and contract sign‑off. • Create pitch documentation using BGIS standard Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates. • Collaborate with UK and global Client Solutions teams and coordinate with Marketing. • Generate new profitable business sources through innovative prospecting methods. • Represent BGIS at industry events, networking functions, and on social media. • Maintain up‑to‑date market knowledge, competitor activity, and industry trends. • Keep accurate records and contract documentation for tenders and re‑bids. • Support retention and improvement initiatives for existing customers.

What You Bring

Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail‑oriented, and proficient with Microsoft Office. A minimum of five years’ professional sales experience, preferably in Hard FM, and familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM is essential; higher education (HNC/D or degree) and professional sales/marketing accreditation are desirable. • Minimum 5 years of professional sales experience, preferably in Hard FM. • Proven ability to work under high‑pressure, target‑driven environments. • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM system. • Excellent verbal and written communication; detail‑oriented and methodical. • Full proficiency with Microsoft Office; higher education (HNC/D or degree) and sales/marketing accreditation desirable.
